Bilingual Retirement Investment Counselor

Job Description

This role is a key member of the Inside Sales, Advice and Retention (ISAR) team, providing a few key member engagement interaction touch points throughout the customer’s lifecycle with Manulife; Welcome Support, when members are new to the plan, providing education on how their employer plan works. Retirement Counsel for members enrolled in our Retirement Redefined Program, helping with retirement planning, income projections, budgeting support and education/advice on retirement pay out products. The Investment Counselor also provides support for the LifeNow program, which is geared at the younger member who is starting out and has questions around investing, home ownership and how investing can help them reach their goals. The Investment/Retirement Counselor provides these diverse, yet complementary education in both French/English utilizing 3 internal systems.

Key Accountabilities

Individual Accountabilities:

o    Manage inbound, outbound and email databases to provide outstanding education and advice to members regarding their retirement products. This involves guiding members through the enrolment process, assisting with fund selection, crafting retirement illustrations based on various scenarios to ensure the member is proficient in their options for retirement and taking full advantage of the employer program

o    Gather and accurately record all customer information required to process member transactions in one of the 3 record keeping systems/CRM tools. This could include enrolments, asset consolidations, demographic information updates, investment changes, etc.

o    Remain current and up-to-date on wealth management products, market trends and financial planning issues.

o    Be a Brand Ambassador in all service interactions to achieve a strong Net Promoter Score (NPS)

o    Assist in the identification of gaps in internal processes to ensure the customer is “delighted” in their interactions with Manulife

Key Shared Accountabilities:

o    Network with colleagues across Consumer Markets/Marketing to overall Sales targets priorities and plans.

Job Requirement:

o   Bilingual – Able to explain financial planning concepts in both French and English (verbal and written)

  • Previous financial service experience (2+ years)

  • Previous customer service experience (2+ years)

o   Life License (LLQP) with AMF – Licensed for a minimum 6 months

o   Knowledge of Manulife products and systems would be an asset

o    Experience working with Salesforce and Navi Plan would be an asset

o   Computer skills, and a general knowledge level of the MS Office suite of products

o    Successfully completed a formal sales training program

Proficiencies:

  • Must be a strong communicator both verbally for phone consultations and in email, in both English and French

  • Must be well organized and detailed in approach, with good follow-through

  • Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization

  • Ability to prioritize multiple member requests in a timely manner with outstanding service interaction skills

  • Comfortable in a sales role where expectations are measured against targets.
